This gig poster was created using a royalty free photo of a London building from www.sxc.hu, I edited the colours quite a lot for this image. The font used is Alte Haas Grotesk & the whole thing was done using Photoshop. This wasn't actually the first idea I was working on, I originally had something a lot more dirty in mind, but it occured to me that it was a bit too typical for a gig poster & in order to stand out it needed to be different. I think it sums up the music quite nicely & stands out. Both Shadow Army & Cue To Eclipse have the big epic moments & sing along parts, so I think the skyline view really represents that well. Also the colour modification I have added really gives it a surreal look, once again representing the epic moments of the band. As apart from this, the bands are all quite different & this is the part where they relate, this is what I chose to focus on for the design. The layout of the information at the top is very eyecatching, the heirarchy works perfectly with all the important parts are in bolder larger text, so when people decide they want to go, they can read in to the smaller text.
